Test Matches in Washington IWF
The clue is in the subject... Are there going to be test matches?
So far I reckon we have the following Brits going (or at least owning up to going):
Paul Brandon
Nik Gaukroger
Pete Dalby
Dave Fairhurst
Lynda Fairhurst
Me
What other nations are planning on going?

I am not sure which photo is the more frightening.
There is certainly enough interest here in the US to set up Test Match(es). I am sure Dan is on top of it. He has already more or less announced that he will be captaining Team USA. The truly important question is whether or not we will have Hilton playing for us to get those final two points to put us over the top . . . .

Pete the venue was picked while the economy was still booming and the dollar was worth a lira. You still have a good deal just not a ridiculously good deal. If you have hotel points there are other chains nearby. The real cheaper places you really need a car as they are 6 km up the highway. There is a small place nearby with rubber sheets that rents in 30 minute intervals. While it is an option, i cannot actually recomend it.petedalby wrote:Any preferences on accommodation for those going? The venue or somewhere cheaper?
The venue hotel has a pool on the roof and alcohol on the same floor.
let me know how i can assist you.

This is where me and Nik are staying. It is definitely very cheap. Given that when we went to Dublin we reckoned that the hotel actually cost £28 per hour if we only paid for when we were actually there then there was no real reason to spend twice as much as we actually have ...There is a small place nearby with rubber sheets that rents in 30 minute intervals. I don't really mind that the hotel offers rooms for 30 minutes, but when the Police raid the place I hope they keep the noise down.
