Alliance possible bug/problem?

Post by lostangelonline »

Hi, in MP I have accepted an alliance proposal from player A (since we are both at war with player B) and the game informs me that I am now at war with player C (which was at war with player A) and who accepted just before (in same turn) my cooperation proposal. I do not want to declare war or fight player C, and I have never thought that an alliance means that I have to aid the ally in all their ongoing wars (just to defend them in new wars, like in EU4). Can someone please tell me what an alliance means and how they work in FOGE?

EDIT: I proposed peace to player C and he accepted, finally achieving what I wanted and expected by accepting player A's alliance proposal. I guess alliances should only reveal (lift FOW/fog of war) the allied player, and should be up to me to declare war on his enemies (if I do not defend them, they will be upset with me, never ally with me again, declare war on me, etc.). Auto-declaring war does not force me to attack the enemy, and I can also just propose peace the next turn, as I just did. So should we consider auto-declaring war when forging alliances a bug?
