Hi all,
I intend to create new map markers (such as the A, B, C, $... provided in the game) but when I edit the corresponding .png picture, the editor no longer recognize it (there is no selection blue square in the "markers" tab, others tabs still work properly)
My question is simple : how to proceed ? How to make the editor able to read the edited new layer and use the brand new created markers ? I know it is possible as I saw mods with markers layer larger than vanilla but I have no idea of the way to do it
Thank you !

Re: New Tiles and markers
Are you trying to replace the markers or add more markers?
I did a quick test by expanding the .png file to 952x136 and copying the 'A' marker to the new area. In the editor, I have 2 'A' markers; one in the original place and a second in the new area. So adding a new marker can be done.

It can also be done by adding more space under; i.e. making the graphic area 816 x 272.

I'm trying to add more
However I was able to make a new marker appear in the editor too, but then no markers are selectable (blue square under them)
while normal tabs like units one present the selection blue square under the unit currently selected to be put on the map
Do you know what I mean ?

Re: New Tiles and markers
I think I know what you mean but I'm not having that trouble. Here's a screenshot of a test using a symbol I grabbed out of another folder:
Re: New Tiles and markers
And here's the file I used for the test:
Edit: The pic is not quite right. In the actual file, the border is at the end of the 6 original markers with a blank space beginning the 2nd line.
Like this:
(6 original markers)
(space) (new marker)
And I can select any of the original 6 and place them on the map too.

Re: New Tiles and markers
Hi,
I've just done things as you did in your explanation and I also used GIMP to do so instead of the basic Windows provided Paint and then it worked ! Markers including new one are selectable (blue square) thus my problem is solved
The problem was caused by the fact that the edited picture had a solid blank white background while the pictures the PzC Editor may use have a transparent one, that's why I thought to switch to GIMP in addition to your instructions (in term of size) too
Thank you very much for your help !

Great! I'm glad that you were able to work it out.Maths wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 3:39 pm Hi,
