4k monitor

It is a bit slow around here, so let me promote the use of a 4k monitor playing OOB.
With a little editing of the variables.txt you can enjoy OOB in all its splendor.

But first, can you support this 4k monitor in your lap? Because, that is the place for OOB for me. In my lap, keeping me warm and happy.

But first I suppose I would need a graphics card that supports 4K and so a PC that is powerful enough to support that card :/ What I mean is I can't just go out and buy a good value 23 inch 4k monitor and slap it against my current PC with its Nvidia GTX760 card,,, can I?

Note that I had to reduce image resolution to about 75% to make the screenshots fit the site limit.

I suppose a modern souped-up laptop may handle 4k resolution on an external screen, but there may not be too many with this resolution as standard laptop screen.

well yes you can with some games, but no not with all, as the processing power of 4k res takes up more, so depending on the game and engine, some will have more overheads than others, so will jerk with some and refuse even to load with others,

as daft as it sounds, the 4k screen needs a good cpu and memory just as much as it needs a good GPU to run it, eg

a slow CPU with a low amount of system ram and a high end GPU means a slower FPS and more ram to load and cache the images depending on the resolution set

A CPU bottleneck is when a CPU is incapable of keeping up with other hardware, generally the graphics card, in a certain task. You will experience subpar FPS, slowdowns, or in worst case scenarios a stuttery near unplayable gaming experience.
