A spot of feedback

Post by PoorOldSpike »

I bought the game today and it runs fine, but I wish the onscreen text was a bit bigger, as it's hard to read on my 27" monitor. I've tried various resolution settings but it stays small.
Also the 3D unit graphics are not bad but tend to blend into the background, so I'd like to see an option to make them stand out more, such as a shadow or highlight around each figure as in the Close Combat and Order of Battle series.

I just logged in to post that very thing. I'm playing on a 17" laptop two feet away and some text is nearly impossible to read - the quest list being one. It looks like a size 6 font which is so small it makes the Distant Worlds UI jealous.

Game is really fun though. I played FG for the first time much more recently but hearing that opening chorus was a wonderful throwback.

Text resolution is based on dpi of the monitor and we are aware we need to improve that for some very large screens with limited resolution such as older HDTVs, but you should be able to use different resolutions to get better visibility until then?
Adding 2D units at present would mean we have to animate and create 70+ units in 2D...which is not in our current scope, so looking at improved highlighting ay be a better option.
