FoG Fantasy Yahoo Group

Post by SirGarnet »

This is the URL for the unofficial Yahoo FoG fantasy group.

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/FoG_fantasy/

It includes lists, discussion of lists, discussion of miniatures, and discussion of possible rules modifications for playing FOG with fantasy armies.

Content is driven by contributors and their interests and expertise. The most extensive discussions to date involve Middle Earth and Hyborea (Conan). Other fantasy realms and more generic fantasy contributions are all welcome.

Cheers,

Mike

Would a "bolt on" to FoG for the magic work? That way the authors would have the basic combat in place and could concentrate on the arcane aspect more.

Magic can take several forms depending on the fantasy setting. In the Lord of the Rings you don't see things like fireballs, etc., but rather a morale/cohesion effect. In Robert E. Howard's Hyboria (Conan), magic users can be more powerful, but usually do not take part in combat. There is a proposed set of magic rules in the Conan army list section of the group. Some ideas for flyers have also been discussed in the message section.
