Unwanted Regions
Is there anyway to abandon unwanted regions? Through a series of unwanted wars my Glorious Tribal Chiefdom nation of Gothones now stretches like a snake from the Baltic to the Black Sea. I would like to get rid of about 5 regions. Any suggestions?
Re: Unwanted Regions
maximise unrest.
so make sure if you can they are -ve for food = famine, remove all pop from culture, disband buildings (each will give a loss of loyalty = upkeep cost for a few turns), hope for a nearby slave/ethnic uprising. Its not infallible but I've managed to lose quite a lot by this trick.

Re: Unwanted Regions
Yep there are gimmicks to try to do it, but why can't we just abandon a region ? There's no real rationale behind...
Re: Unwanted Regions
Their could be historical rationale for this for example Rome's abandonment of Dacia or the retreat back from the Antonine Wall. Being able to offer regions/provinces in treaty negotiations would be a good feature to have

Re: Unwanted Regions
Thanks, Guys. I now know what to try. It would be great if in an update, or future DLC, you had the option to claim/pillage/leave with previous nation a region. Playing Whack-A-Mole with an enemy army can really screw up your decadence.
Re: Unwanted Regions
Another slightly "gimmicky" way of getting rid of an unwanted region is to send a unit to a neighbouring independent region. The unit triggers an army to be spawned which on the following turn or two will go to the neighbouring undefended region (hopefully yours) and take it.
