Just starting some Norman mercs for a Byzantine Army and am using the Essex figs and I am wondering if the Lances may appear too short, The casting seems to have them at around 8---9ft = 2.4---2.7 meters.
Cheers Terry.

Yes vingthorr I have and they seem to be same sort of length lance. I was looking at the Bayeux tapestry and although many seem to be around that length some are a deal shorter and some seem to get to top of work cut off point.
Those look particularly nice figures but a long way away from me and last time I ordered something Stateside I had to pay a fortune in customs duty. Like $60.00 on a $20 item = Amazon. So it puts me off a bit.
Thanks, Terry.

No such taxes for me when I order miniatures or litko bases in US from France.Spartacus wrote:Yes vingthorr I have and they seem to be same sort of length lance. Is it a UK law ?
Figures from the US into the UK attract a customs duty of 4.7% and VAT of 15%.
The product code is 9503 00 85 00
The 19.7% is due on the total cost, including all US taxes, postage and packing.
There is an exemption on all duty for commercial shipments worth less than £18, and on gifts (which cant come from a commercial supplier) worth less than £36.
There is a "flat rate alternative" duty of 3.5% on shipments less than £290 and HMRC say they won't collect tax of less than £7 (10 Euro, an EEC wide allowance)
Simple non?
Tom..
