Bohemians

Post by Katsu »

Is there a current list that would be suitable enough for Bohemians fighting against the HRE?

thanks, JM

In what period?

The Hussite list in "Eternal Empire" covers Bohemia in the Late Middle Ages.

There is a "Great Moravian" list covering the Dark Ages.

you bet! Hussites=Bohemians. apart from that, most of the time Bohemians were part of the HRE. from 1355 the capital of the HRE was in central Bohemia--Prague!

Perhaps he means the reigns of Ottacar I & II, when the Kingdom of Bohemia grew in influence, leading to the campaigns of Rudolf of Hapsburg against Ottacar II, ending in the battle of the Marchfeld, August 1278, with the death of Ottacar II.
Do the Bohemians get their own list in "Oath of Fealty", or will they qualify for a "special campaign" option in the German list(s)?
In "Wolves from the Sea", are the Bohemians considered after the destruction of Grand Moravia?

No, I would have liked to do one, but there are space constraints and the list would not really have been different enough to justify a separate list. A few more Slavs then what's common in German armies maybe (catered for in the list though), but that's about it. The armies of Bohemia in the 12th and 13th Cen. were not very unique. This goes especially for Marchfeld, being that at this time Ottocar counted among his lands not only Bohemia but also Austria, Styria, Carinthia, etc. and his army included mercenaries from Meissen, Brandenburg and so on. Basically a 'vanilla' SE German Army which you will be able to field from the list.

Thank you for the information guys.

I have enjoyed playing the Later Medieval German list in a local campaign and would like to design a campaign with Frederick Barbarossa, Bohemia, Poland and Hungary involved.
