Game resets settings
Game resets settings
Periodically when I start the game I will get the following message 'Field of Glory 2 will now attempt to connect to the internet. Please configure any firewalls as necessary. This is a normal part of the game scoring and check for updates and new content. If you have no internet connection the game will run normally buy you will not be able to report scores or get updates.' After I clear the message I need to go into the settings because the difficulty level, volumes, tool tips, etc. have changed to (presumably) the default settings. It is not a big deal, but, it seems to be happening more frequently recently. It used to happen only once or twice a month, but, now it is happening multiple times a week. I am using the Steam version of the game and it is up to date with the latest update. Thanks for the help.

Re: Game resets settings
The settings are held in
/Documents/My Games/FieldOfGlory2/Options.txt
If this happens every time you start the game, it means that the Options.txt file has not been saved correctly, which is likely to be due to you folder permissions, firewall or anti-virus settings.
If it does not happen every time, it sounds like Options.txt file is getting deleted, or its updating getting interfered with, which will reset all the settings to their default values. If you have not somehow deleted it yourself, then I am not sure what other program might be doing so. I will ask Pip to comment.

Re: Game resets settings
It sounds like an interference of one of your Internet security programs.

Re: Game resets settings
If it is periodic it is unlikely to be a permissions issue, and does sound more like something it interfering with the saving of the options file. Do you have any issues saving games?

Re: Game resets settings
No issues saving games. It looks like it was tied to my backup/sync software. As soon as I disabled that software for the options file the error has not occurred again. Thanks for the prompt replies!
