interpenetration

i would like to know how it happens when an interpenetrations with two BG which are at 45 ° angle

Imagine two BG of 8 bases in 4 x 2.

When one interpenetrate the other. How do it finish? In a "Z" like shape?

Second question: what if the interpenetrating BG is hit to fight? Does the ranks on the far side comme back? fight?...

sorry i can't find how to make draws.
