What´s the Purpose of Light Unit Groups?

Since they are exempt from Command Control (I think ) and usually don´t have a General, does it matter at all how they are grouped?

It just allows them to do group moves on the first turn or two.

Ok. I always move Lights individually, so this didn´t occur to me. But good to know, it´s a reason not to group them with Heavies.
