QRS Question

Post by BrianC »

Hey Guys,

I was just reviewing the QRS for the various POA's and wanted to ask about the Melee section.

Skilled Swordsmen get a + against any except El, mounted Sw or Steady Pk/Sp

But Swordsmen get a + against any except El, Sw, SSw or Steady Pk/Sp

Can I assume that mounted Sw is the same as Sw? In other words any troops with Sw whether mounted or foot?

Thanks

Brian

Correct. SSW is better than SW unless the guy with SW is on a horse.

Mounted swordsmen is almost the same as swordsmen, but: No swordsmen, skilled swordsmen or mounted swordsmen get a POA against mounted swordsmen. Foot swordsmen do not get a POA against foot swordsmen. Mounted swordsmen do not get a POA against any swordsmen. However skilled swordsmen do get a POA against foot swordsmen. But skilled swordsmen do not get a POA against skilled swordsmen.

And this all makes it sound more complicated than it is.

If its on a horse (camel) sword POA's cancel out. If its on foot skilled sword are better.

No sword POA against El or steady pike spear no matter how skilled

The first part of this post made me think of Yes Minister. The second is quite clear.

The way I think of it is:
Swordsman vs Swordsman always cancels
Skilled swordsman gets a POA against foot swordsmen but is even against mounted swordsmen

Thanks for the feedback guys,

I must admit when I first saw that there was no modifier for Sw against mounted Sw I thought it was a mistake, then I read it again and saw the logic but wanted to confirm just in case. Now back to more terrain building :D

Thanks

Brian
