I've already placed my advance order with Amazon!

I have eight armies from this group (four of them Egyptian, admittedly), but it looks like the piles of light and medium foot and cavalry I used for the Zamuan army may not have a home - unless there is another early period book coming that I've failed to notice?

Hi There
Just wondered do people think there will be a large amount of these armies turning up in comps or do you think this might push the idea of set periods in comp any ideas. Its just a Libyian army drawn against a medieviel army might not last long. Mind if the Sea people and Philistine armies have impact foot they might be something elese.

My guess--based purely on a hunch--is that we will see these armies in open comps. Perhaps not Libyans, though. My guess is that superior light chariot with bow will be a potent troop type. Like many armies from other books, a lot will depend on how well the supporting troops mesh with the game-winners. I know I am looking forward to running out my Ugaritic uber-army . . . . 8)

i don't know about that... i've had enough KN lured out into the open by failing CMT, and shot to death, to know it's not always a doddle.

Hmm, would have to check the rules since I don't recall whether double flank marches are allowed.

None,

They are all average :P

What makes you think they should be poor?

I realise that in DBM they are Ps(I) but DBM much as it claims troop types are not defined by equipment mandates that unshielded light foot javelinmen are Ps(I).

i still have this picture of a board with 3 BG of KN facing early libyan. impact phase, i declare charges.

witness havoc as 25 or more BG of LF flee in every direction.

the libyan player will likely get a lot of draws, if not only from spending a hour moving all those BG corectly...

I would love to raise an army in 25mm from these but as I like compitions apart from the Assyrians I fear average poor most armies would'nt last long in an open comp still i might be wrong.

Maybe because most 25mm comp are open events.

Good to see the LATER MYCENAEAN OR TROJAN in the list. :) :)

Was going to do them under DBM, but held back when we changed to FoG.

Have been collecting the Foundry figures for sometime and look forward to dusting them off and getting them painted.

Not sure it will be great in 25mm, but that hasn't stopped me in the past.

I suspect the problem will be the spearmen being MF.

Look on the bright side, they can move faster and some are Armoured. And the chariots can dismount as MF, Armoured, Superior, Offensive Spear. (ooer missus).

And let's face it, anything with Spearmen is a Don army. (or is that a Steve army?).

Nik,

Fishing for confirmation of what I had been told last year :D :D :D

Wouldn't want to create more rebasing

Richard,

Not many heavy foot spear in my Warfare second place Thracians :D :D :D

Not sure that MF spear is a problem, just need a little terrain.

The later Assyrian spearmen are indeed heavy foot.
