Re: Cannon in the Darkness
No, it's not another ghost unit but one of my heavy artillery guns surrounded by the fog of war.terminator wrote: ↑Wed Sep 19, 2018 6:14 am Another Ghost Unit ?

Sorry, I do not have a save of this.

Re: Cannon in the Darkness
The (core) unit is still marked on the minimap, so it must exist. The fog-of-war is quite messed up in that area.
Some scenarios generate wrecks at start. Maybe it somehow got resurrected if it doesn't belong to your units.
It's spooky nevertheless!
If there's something weird
And it don't look good
Who you gonna call?

Re: Cannon in the Darkness
Without savegame, difficult to help you
If you are playing a campaign, you should activate this usefull function, "Autosave per turn" :
You can also save the replay at the end of the mission

Re: Cannon in the Darkness
I cant provide any useful help here.
But 'cannon in the darkness' has a Lovecraftian ring to it.

I just was banned from all Slitherine forums for advertisement spam, I hope that was a mistake and that you can still read my posts

I have contacted Slitherine Support and that was the reply I received:
"Thank you for contacting us. There was a problem with some users logging today. We've fixed the issue, please try to login again.
We apologize for all the inconvenience."

Re: Cannon in the Darkness
Did you modify the scen somehow? My version (v6.1.9) looks like this:
It must have been some 30 years ago I saw that movie first...unbelievable..

Re: Cannon in the Darkness
Good catch. Yes, I modified a little. I replaced airstrips with airports in some scenarios (no other changes) but that shouldn't affect the sight of units or the fog of war.

Re: Cannon in the Darkness
I tried to replicate that fog of war issue but I couldn't, everything was fine this time.
I guess, that it's some kind of a bug, which appears at times no matter what scenario.
I also noticed, that you occasionally have no fog of war at places on maps, with no reason and no friendly units around.

Re: Cannon in the Darkness
Triggers would be a reason. I wasn't talking about triggers that take away the fog of war.

I went to sell my OOB stock when I saw this! Erik, of all people?
Then rationality arrived . . . Erik was posting the aberration here, so . . . OOB stock is back in my portfolio!

Re: Cannon in the Darkness
Yeah, well, I thought, it could have been that you modded the scen and forgot about it or something...
Also I noticed a whole bunch of random triggers inside, one of them could be responsible for some "reveal/change ownership/whatever" effect gone wrong (I didn't check)... and this could explain why it wouldn't happen twice in a row, too.
