Is it possible to create your own faction?

Field of Glory II is a turn-based tactical game set during the Rise of Rome from 280 BC to 25 BC.

I want to create an ancient Egypt; chariots and light infantry

is it possible to do? is it easy or does it requires modding?

It would be easy to create a faction if you are happy with using existing unit models.

Of course once we get Swifter Than Eagles you won't have to bother, plus you will get Assyrians, Babylonians, Hittites and a whole load of other interesting gentry.

This will make a nice change from variations on the theme of late ancient hairy barbarians and horse armies.

I really like the hairy barbarians, to my mind there's not much interest in watching two desert tribal peoples throwing pebbles at each other.

Regarding Swifter than Eagles setting. Wouldn't all the armies basically be a bunch of ox/pony drawn ranged chariots, a lot of light infantry and/or massed archers, maybe a little bit of heavy infantry and a ton of pure conjecture. I just don't see how it would be an interesting period gameplay-wise.
