"Rugged defense" - any terms?

Can "rugged defense" be active even when AI is suppressed? So - in any situation...

AFAIK yes. Since the AI can't fire obviously you can't be hurt by it. Unfortunately, a big downside is that whatever suppression you built up will be wiped away before the next attack.

I think that rugged defence works in all modes, including chess mode.
