I suspect the answer is that you can't get Old Glory 15s in the UK :(

I have recently placed a large order with warweb in the US and postage works out at 16%, duty will be another 17.5% The good news is that the figures are discounted quite highly.

You may find that if a few people band together a sensible priced order can be acheived.

My last order (with various club mates adding stuff, mostly WWII) came to $1000 but is a HUGE amount of stuff.

You think the postage is high from the US to the UK then try the US to Australia. Having said that I did buy my Free Company army from Old Glory 15s in the US. Even if the postage is about 25% they work out good value for money. I have stopped buying figures from my local wargaming store I just go direct to the supplier. That way I get what I want when I want it for usually a better price even when a factor in the postage.

But, with the US Dollar so weak right now, I'd think your Pounds/Euros/Aus. Dollars would buy have huge purchasing power when buying from the USA.

Doesn't that more than compensate for outrageous postage?

And what's this duty of 17.5% you are talking about? You don't mean like customs duty, do you, where your gov't actually charges you a tariff to import US products?

If so, that's "bovine feces" of a major magnitude :(

It is possible that may have been the case. The minimum postage seems fairly high but as the order gets bigger postage doesn't increase too fast.

I just did a quick test on the Warweb site and 3 packs of Huns would have cost $21.60 to buy and $38 to ship  but 30 packs would cost $216.00 to buy and $78.00 to ship. My $1000 order only cost $159 to ship.

I am wondering if there may be sense in trying to setup an OG 15mm cooperative buying scheme.

I just found this as well:
INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS
Please note that the shipping prices for some international shipments will seem quite large in your shopping carts. We are doing everything we can to get the quoted prices to show up more reasonable. Orders that are placed by credit card can easily be edited and a more reasonable shipping charge will show up on your packing slip. If you plan on paying for your international order via Paypal, please email us your order with your contact information and shipping address, and we will send a correct Paypal invoice to you. We apologize for the inconvienence.

TimeCast are importing OldGlory15s, their site says Napoleonics and ACW are in, but I didn't get the impression from reading it that those were the only ranges they intend to import, an email would sort it out though.

Could someone explain me the difference between
http://oldglory15s.com and http://www.oldgloryuk.com/
Are they two different companies with no more cooperation ?

What looks odd to me is that the UK company don't sell the 15 mm ancient range ???
And so european customers have to order in US :(

Andy Copestake of Old Glory UK used to stock all the 25 and 15mm old glory stuff but a few years ago decided to concentrate on the 25mms and passed the 15mms other than Command Decision on to someone else. As you rightly say he no longer has any connection. As previously stated mail order from the staes seems the only option in the short term.
