"Appendix Two" criteria?

Post by speedy »

One for the authors/list writers really ….

I wondered what the criteria are for armies making it into “Appendix 2” and therefore tournaments sometimes themed on the edges of their geography or chronology? Specifically, Thracians aren’t included in Legions Triumphant themed competitions, but their list extends to 46AD and the theme starts in 25BC, and despite the Thracians being a Roman Client Kingdom between those dates there were non-trivial actions in that period …. The Roman relief of Rhoemetalces II in Philippopolis in AD36 (?) against the Odrysians for example?

Is that potential errata material, or is there too little justification for corrupting the Legions Triumphant theme with a fringe conflict?

Cheers.

No hard and fast rule to be honest. More a case of where an army from another book could be considered a "major player" in the period covered - all a bit of "it feels right" to be honest and there is a "players would expect it" factor in there as well.

So not scientific 8)
