Was not notified that I had won in a PBEM game

Hi,

I played my turn in an ongoing PBEM game and saw that I achieved 60% of my opponents troops routed...so I assumed the game would end there notifying me that I had won...but it didn't and so I finished the rest of my turn wondering what happened and then my turn was uploaded to the server.

When I logged back into the multiplayer lobby to see if my opponent had played his turn, it told me that I had no ongoing multiplayer games and so there was no way for me to know for sure that I won the game or see the end game stats! I assume I won because I got 60% of the enemy's troops routed...but was never notified or shown that I had won. Very strange. Is this some kind of bug? Did I miss something?

The victory conditions are not checked at the end of your turn, but at the beginning of the other player's turn. This is because they cannot be fairly checked until all melees from the previous turn have been adjudicated - otherwise a player could trigger only the good ones and avoid triggering the bad ones.

So you won't get a notification that the game has ended until the other player has viewed the replay of your turn, and all ongoing melees have been adjudicated. As rallies also occur in the same phase as resolution of unresolved melees, it can happen that something rallies so that the victory conditions are no longer met, in which case the other player will get to play his turn.

When the game has in fact ended, you will get a notification that the game has ended - this won't actually say whether you won or lost, but you can review the final resolution in the completed game tab.
