Hussite Handgunners

Post by Mulciber »

I'm enjoying reading through "Eternal Empire" but have a couple of queries. Here's one.
Other than as decoration for warwagon stands, there's not really a role for handgunners in a Hussite force, just wondered why this was?

Because handgunners did not operate independently in Hussite armies. They were assigned to the defense of the wagons and the factors are built into the battle wagon POAs. It should be noted that the main missile weapon was the crossbow, which is why the battle wagons use crossbow POAs for shooting.

Yes, undoubtedly the crossbow formed the majority of missile capability, however, the Hussites were revolutionary in their large use of handguns and I was just not sure this was adequately reflected.
