Question concerning Blitzkreig DLC

Post by Skylar27 »

Why doesn't the heavy infantry MG sound like the MG 34 and also why doesn't the Junkers JU 87 have rear fire protection ?

I'm not the sound expert here, but I assume there is a general MG sound in use for various heavy infantry units.

There are probably some things that, beyond a certain point, we must take as "simulated" in unit animations. To me, OOB provides a perfect level of animation; enough to satisfy the eye but not too much that will start taxing my laptop and appear choppy. So, I would think the answer is that the Artistorcrats do very well on aircraft unit designs but at least for now all aircraft need to adhere to the same animation patterns of attack and defense according to type (fighters, tactical bombers, etc.).

Thanks bru888 for the information,

I was just wonderin' because the Polish PZL 23 B is equipped with rear defensive fire and the JU 87 should be as well

You're saying that there is rear defensive fire animation for one plane and not the other? My gosh, what I don't know about this game would fill a book. Let me take a look at it tonight and I will post again. I'll set up a simple test scenario.

Of course that does not impact the gameplay, as there is only one air - air defense stat regardless of visual representation.

It's funny how, if one is only thinking about something instead of seeing it, one can completely forget it but when one does see it, one says "of course!" So, of course I've seen this behavior when rear-firing planes are attacked! They turn away and fire backwards, just like this Polish PZL 23B and just like the Avengers and Dauntlesses that I have seen in similar action many times:

That said, I ran a test of every Ju87 model I could find in the scenario editor, including the Stuka, and every one of them "presented their hindquarters" when shot at, and fired back!

Thanks for looking into it gentlemen,

But still, the JU 87 B in my Blitzkrieg DLC doesn't have rear defensive fire capability ... must be something on my end then , I'll re-install and see if that may be a problem as I do have the STEAM version

Here's the test scenario that I goofed around with a bit. The last iteration was U.S. human and German/Polish AI (you can flip back and forth in the scenario editor). Try it for yourself, P-38 versus various Ju-87's.
