Hehe, it is a hell of a game system, is it not?

I am so glad to see I'm not the only one :)

Add me to the list of fans. I've been dabbling with computer games for years - but my heart has really always been with board wargames. I'm one of those OLD grognards - started playing back in 1967. So after many disappointments with a large number of computer games, I saw a demo for Spartan, then got Spartan and GOT, and have been having an absolute blast. Can't wait to get Legion Arena, too. Thanks Slitherine, for some excellent product and many hours of enjoyment.

I am also a big Slitherine fan. I bought Spartan about the time it came out, and loved it instantly. I wasn't able to find any other Slitherine games for a while though, but I finally found Legion and bought it. I had a blast playing that one, too. I am looking forward to buying Gates of Troy, and Legion II when it comes out. You guys are one of the top PC game producing companies out there.

Gates of troy is GREAT, it brings more enjoyment to an already very good game...and the Thermopylae scenario is simply amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fact that only six people were involved in it makes the results unbelievable...IMHO  Give them half the power of Blizzard or Firaxis and time to develop their games and they'll come out with the greatest strategy game (non RTS) of all times. Spartan+GOT is already among the greatest.

...Iain, we'll talk about my fee later, I'm short of money

Ahh, a fellow grognard!

My first game was Avalon Hill's 1914, which I bought at the PX down at MCRD in 1971. But it didn't take me long to discover SPI, whose games were far superior to AH. I think my first subscription issue of Strategy & Tactics magazine was issue #36, Destruction of Army Group Center. I just missed #35, which was Armageddon!

On a related note, did you see that Redmond Simonsen died a few months ago? I was sad to hear that...
