Marine second scenario question

All,

Halfway through this scenario but have no clue how to deal with the ranged artillery on the objectives.

I cannot use my aircraft as no airstrip and my cruiser cannot get there.

Am I just supposed to use my infantry and take damage each turn as I approach primary objective?

Well, as far as I can tell, you never have more than 6 or 9 air command points in Guadalcanal and that is enough for only two or three planes. You normally want those to be fighters to protect your troops and airfield. Plus, you have no navy. Yes, the Japanese have a few of those pesky 70mm Type 92s out there but this is what Marines do. Have them fight their way to those guns and knock them out.

Hmmm. By the way, I assumed you were talking about Guadalcanal but I see you mention a cruiser? Better identify which scenario you are playing when asking a question.
