dep zone

very large, 2k points both sides, (ai and me)

i picked early carthaginian army and got only 10 squares horizontally to deploy in the first line, i was forced to have 3-4 lines
map was 60 wide 32 tall

this cant be wad can it ?

I have just tried this on a very wide map and the Carthaginian main (non-light-troops) deployment area was 24 squares wide.

If, however, you were in fact using the Hannibal in Africa list, that uses a "Roman" deployment style which is currently restricted to 10 wide infantry. This will be corrected in Patch 2.

this seems acceptable since i took very few light units, but not quite sure

I've had this happen a few times with a "coastal" map--it seems like the deployment zone does not take into account that many hexes are unusable water hexes...

I've had that one as well. Just treated it as a feature not a bug and had a perfectly good game; a factor to deal with in your battle plan.
