You may use the X key to have a very far zoom view, but in this case, you lost the rotation of camera
This mod allows you to have the both :
vertical view and/or very far zoom, without lost the rotation camera function
INSTALLATION : copy the attached file in Data directory (after saving original file)
Image : this view is like the "X key view of vanilla game but I keep the rotation camera function (in vanilla game, this rotation is lost when you use X key). In addition, this view allow to have a very far vertical view (in vanilla game, the far zoom is poor when you use the M key to see the battle in vertical view)
