Deployment zone

in custom battles (mp) if i play very large battle, i am unable to deploy my units as i like. i can cover only so much terrain horizontally to put 1/3 of my army in the first line (not counting skirmishers/light cav) . is that working as designed or its a slight oversight? i end up having 3 lines usually

If you are a Roman army then yes. Hellenistic armies should mostly be able to deploy in one line even in (unmodded) Very Large battles.

If you have modded the points sizes, then the deployment probably won't work as intended.

why are Romans so handicapped? I noticed AI usually deploy in unhistorical 6 lines with large battles, therefore they are way too easy to handle as you dont need to worry they will outflank you...

Yes, we do need to look at widening the Roman deployment in larger battles. It is on the to do list for patch 2.
