Should you finish a scenario early?

Post by Dmurphy238 »

I am playing the Belgium scenario. I won it well before the 35th turn. Should I have dragged it out to rack up the resource points? Or are you credited them by finishing sooner?

Here are some notes that I took the last time this question came up:

Resource Points Formula

Opening RP's for this scenario + (RP's per turn x number of turns) - RP's used during scenario + RP's earned or given during scenario + Opening RP's for next scenario = Total RP's to begin next scenario

This part of the formula is the same whether you win early or play the scenario out to the end and still win: (RP's per turn x number of turns)

So, there is no benefit to prolonging a scenario because you don't get any more resource points by doing so.

Two potential downsides to ending a scenario early are lost opportunities to earn experience for your core units and special rewards for completing secondary objectives.
