"Dummy General" = "Praetorian Cavalry"?

"Dummy General" = "Praetorian Cavalry"?

I've been playing around with the "Dummy General", thinking "What can I use this for?"
I've been impressed with the reskins being created by grimsta and kscott.
Via tortuous linkage, word association and lack of sleep I mangaged to merge these two thoughts.
My next thought was "Other than a Legate, what else does this look like?"
Then it struck me, it looks like a Praetorian on a horse, Praetorian Cavalry.

Next I checked to see if all of the elements were in place.
I looked in squads.txt - ok, battlegfx.txt - ok, localisation.txt - ok and lastly in Units for 4 x .xam files - ok.
Good, so all the elements are in place.
Next I altered the names in all of these places to PraetorianCavalry.
In squads.txt I ensured that all alterations needed to activate the "Dummy General" were taken.
In squads.txt I changed the number of men from 1 to 24.
Finally I deleted all files in the Cache directory.

I fired up Legion Arena and sat back, watched and waited.
When it had finished the preamble and I was in the Army Camp screen, I pushed the recruit button.
There at the bottom of the list was another Legate (not PraetorianCavalry), so I selected it.
Up it comes, men 24/24, good, everthing else was working as it should be.
Next I selected "Campaign".

Here's where things were not as I would have wished.
01. The new squad's "footprint" (base) was only half the size of the auxiliary cavalry's base.
02. The new squad still thought of itself as a Legate x 24 and had a glowing command circle around it.
03. I suspect, because it only had half a base, it was really only one Legate with 23 "ghosts".
04. I sent it after two units of javelinmen and it got it's butt severely kicked.
05. You know what the Legate's stats are, a Legate x 24 should be a "super-unit"???

Does anybody have any "helpful" thoughts or suggestions how I can fix these problems?

Conclusions.
The "Dummy General" is most probably a place holder? I have no idea "for what" at the moment?

PS. I begin to suspect that localisation.txt is an unnecessary step in the conversion process. I believe there is/are another/other file/s that we don't have access to that controls/control all of the game's elements.
