Are the Old Glory 15mm FoG miniatures any good?

Post by vivsavage »

I like the army "batches" that Old Glory has generated for FoG... but I'm wary as they do not have any actual images of the miniatures! Can anyone shed some light on Old Glory and whether their FoG armies are any good, as far as the quality of the minis is concerned?

I'm happy with the Late Republican Roman FoG army pack I ordered from Old Glory. Nicely cast figures in dynamic poses. I'm pleased :D

Cheers,

Do you know where I could see some pictures? How do they compare to the Corvus Belli romans?

That's a site with many scans of unpainted figures.

I own some Celts, unpainted they look awful, but painted they do alright. Corvus Belli are great, except the light spears are to big to put on a 15mm base, Old Glory's are much better on that aspect. CB and OG next to each other works fine, OG a bit chunckier, but I put them together on a base, no problem

Here are a few images--all but the Italian Allies were purchased as FOG packs. They are respectable figures, and a generally a good buy.

OG 15 mm Xystophoroi

OG 15mm Gallic Cavalry (there is a mix of shield types-- a few ovals and fewer straight-sided.)

I have been very happy with the Old Glory 15s figures that I have purchased. They integrated very well with my Black Hat figures (and my Essex figs are smaller than both with fewer variants). They paint up much better than they look. I have gotten great service from them as well. Good bang for the buck.
