Thefrenchjesterdays in the Britcon Heaven!

Post by thefrenchjester »

Hi all ,

I came , I’ve seen , I’havnt won like Ceasar but …..
I came in Britcon for the first time for The greatest event you can find in the wargame world;

Thanks a lot to all those I’ve met during this four days in Heaven, thanks a lot for your patience with me and my poor English (a very long list of people , you could not imagine how long, more than ten tables I guess ;- ) .

A little report on the four Jesterdays
Travelled 1 hour of plane from Paris and 15 minutes of train later I was in the Manchester University Area;
After a little tour in Manchester (visit Arndale center it’s 10 minutes on foot, really interesting!)

I came back to the event with Olivier and Stephane , more and more people began to come
We had time to see and play some practice games during the afternoon

A lunch in Manchester, a short night and it was already Friday the tournament began

I’ve played 6 enjoyable games during the week end in a very friendly spirit with 6 excellent partners (I’ve found the only thing I search in gaming) a Big Thank to Lynda F , Andrew M , Ian M , David M, Steve S , Steve M ;

You missed the PubQuizz our team: Richard and Eddy from Osprey Publishing ,buy their books!!! They are really good!!! (free Advert ;-) Olivier , Stephane and Me have made their best ( especially Richard and Eddy , all our apologises for our poor culture ;-) ;

You missed the best trade show , the most beautiful Demo games of Marston Moor and Waterloo I’ve also seen a table of the madaxeman on the American civil War on Thursday , A really beautiful table !

One more time a BIG THANK to all the people I’ve met during the Britcon Event , A little Hello and a Special Thank to JD , James , Nick and phil , a Big Thank to them for ALL ( an applause for this Great guys !!!!!), Ian , Jim ,Tim , Pete , Dave, Colin , Ray , all my apologises to all I’ met for the kindness of their reception and their patience with and my English wording ;-) , next year I’ll arrange my travel to stay up to the end of the Event ;

I’ll be Back !!!!!!

Glad you had a great time Gilles.

Looking forwards to seeing you and hopefully a few more French and other overseas players next year ;)

Great to hear you had such a good event Gilles.

Sad I couldn't make it this year, but I am going to try to get over to Paris later in the year and it seems more than likely that we will all see you again at Britcon the Great next year (with more francais still j'espere!)
