All campaigns disabled

Post by morge4 »

I uninstalled Kriegsmarine Beta in anticipation of the release. Now when I go into my regular game, I show all my campaigns disabled and it says I have to buy them again??? This is the non-Steam PC 2.9.9 version.

My experience has been that I merely needed to "reinstall" DLC so that I could re-enter the game keys. (You did keep your receipts with the game keys, yes?) Then all campaigns became available again.

Here are the notes that I kept for myself to remind me next time (Kriegsmarine!):
Game Installation and Update Notes

Install files in this order:

OrderOfBattle-WWII-SetupRelease-v248
OrderOfBattle-WorldWarII-UpdateComp-v299 *
OrderOfBattle-USPacific-SetupRelease-v248 (DLC - key required)
OrderOfBattle-RisingSun-SetupRelease-v248 (DLC - key required)
OrderOfBattle-MorningSun-SetupRelease-v225 (DLC - key required)
OrderOfBattle-USMarines-SetupRelease-v238 (DLC - key required)
OrderOfBattle-WinterWar-SetupRelease-v250 (DLC - key required)
OrderOfBattle-Blitzkrieg-SetupRelease-v296 (DLC - key required)

* This update advances the program version to 2.9.9. All DLC with versions listed below this number can be installed.

Note: If a problem indicated by a blank, black screen upon game start occurs, delete the contents of the C:\Users\Bruce\Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - Pacific\Settings folder and restart the game.
Each new DLC has coincided with the release of a major patch and I assume there will be a patch file to go along with Kriegsmarine. The patch is not the DLC, however. It will allow people to look at Kriegsmarine and maybe play the first scenario for free if things are done as they were in the recent past. It will also spread the changes to naval warfare backward to previous DLC, I believe.

Now, the devs will probably correct me in that I will not need the patch and the Kriegsmarine DLC file if I purchase it (which I will), that the DLC file will update the game, but I have done it this way in the past and I anticipate doing so again. We'll see what happens.

The one thing that I can be definite about is that you will not need to buy previous DLC again, if you kept your game keys.

Before reinstalling, rename the folder named "Order of Battle - WW2" as "_Order of Battle - WW2" in your Windows documents folder:
...\Documents\My Games\
Then reinstall and run the game.

Reinstalled and all is working now. odd that it happened as the Beta was in a different folder.

Thanks all.

Erik had the same problem and was similarly counseled by VP. That's only for the beta version, I assume. We'll find out tomorrow if this is also necessary for the public. I doubt it because it would be chaotic if paying customers are expected to know and do this.
