Well, I bought Legion back in the day, loved it, and now am trying out Legion Gold. I played the Germans (due to my German descent) on the familiar 'The Gallic Wars' map, and was pleasantly surprised when a 'Warrior's Long Hall' gave me the ability to produce bushy, blonde-bearded men called 'Veteran Warriors' and even happier when the 'Hall of Champions' gave me the ability to produce different bushy, blonde-bearded men with giant axes called 'German Champions;' there is nothing I could possibly enjoy more than watching a big-bearded German cut down enemies with his axe. I was glad that the non-Roman and non-Greek "lesser" nationalities now had more to choose from instead of the default 'X mercenaries' or 'X warband,' and made it more enjoyable to play.
However, I then tried playing British to see what new units they would have, and noticed the 'Hall of Champions' was an option. The 'Warrior's Long Hall' gave me the Celtic Fanatics like before, and when I built the 'Hall of Champions,' it gave me absolutely nothing. I tried to see if the 'Hall of Champions' at least made me recruit at a higher level or did something, but it is a completely worthless building that does nothing. The same problem exists with the Celtics, Spaniards, Pictish/Welsh, and so on. On any map, if you play them, they can all build the 'Hall of Champions' which does nothing, gives them no new units, and is a definite bug. I'm assuming the 'Hall of Champions' was intended just for the Germans for their Champions, but somehow the code must have been applied to all of the non-Roman, non-Greek nationalities. It's about the same as all non-Romans being able to build an Imperial Palace, yet getting nothing from it and being in a general state of confusion not only as to why they are able to build an Imperial Palace in a British settlement, but why it has absolutely no benefit to it other than taking up the space that could have been used to build something that actually does something for them. I'm trying to be as clear as humanly possible, but in a nutshell, the 'Hall of Champions' needs to be limited to the Germans in the same fashion that the 'Imperial Palace' is limited to the Romans.
Also, I noticed the 'Warrior's Long Hall' also gave the Spaniards 'Celtic Fanatics,' and I don't think this makes sense at all. The British, Pictish/Welsh, and Celtic I could understand recruiting these, but it makes no sense for the Spaniards to have them, am I right?
Lastly, does a list exist anywhere of the new units and their build requirements? I haven't been able to locate one anywhere. Also, where are the 'new races' and 'fantasy setting' I was told that Legion Gold had?
Please fix the bug regarding the 'Hall of Champions' and the Spaniards being able to recruit 'Celtic Fanatics,' if the second is indeed a bug.

Oddly enough, Spartan/GoT has this problem with the Elite Heavy Infantry Barracks. Some ethnic types can build the building, but then find it does them no good because they're not allowed Elite Hoplites.
I have learned that if you're not Dorian Greek, you don't want to build the Elite Heavy Infantry Barracks.

Here is a little update.
After looking through the files and playing the game a bit more, I have discovered even more things that I can change, which means changing the game for the better.
In addition to squashing a few bugs (Hall of Champions, Celtfanatics, etc) I have found a few problems in the game that has hindered the AI. There were also cost imbalances among many of the units.
I have made many changes in all of the default campaigns; and revamped pricing and unit stats in some of the squads.
After making quite a few changes, the AI is more robust and aggressive than ever.
In addition, I have ensured that almost all of the factions have at least one high level, powerful unit. For example, the Spanish faction was quite weak. I gave them the ability to build Gladiators. Simply look upon this unit as elite Carthaginian troops.
Similarly, I also gave the Greeks the Gladiator unit. Again, look upon this unit as elite Spartan troops.
German Champions can be built by the German and Celtic (Gallic) factions.
Now most of the factions will be both challenging to play with and, play against.
I'm making more changes as I play, so stay tuned.
