As to how things played,There is no way I would have been able to play the Bosporans on a 6x4,the wider table enabled me to maouveur and skirmish far better,I even managed to break the Indians albeit I was 1 point short of breaking.40mm MU's feel and look so much better than 1 inch in 25mm.
Robert has taken some pictures so hopefully will post them shortly ,the extra space didn't leave the armies looking lonely in the middle of nowhere,we were using 700pts so fairly large armies ,I had 12 BG's

40mm per MU was a bit of a shock for me (Late Republican Roman).. LH came over my side of the board scary quickly. Yes my son (Byron, 13 in Sept) was in danger of embarassing me
. I understand he played a good solid game given his experiance of FOG being ~5 practice games before the weekend.. mmmm... The larger board still allowed foot heavy romans (punn not indented), to still not feel isolated and restricted hiding in a square on my long edge.
I even got to take Toms baggage with a unit of HF
and got very close to another baggage
Must have had a virtual road on the board.
