Question: Why can not I buy a T-34 booty tank in the Smolensk or Kiev missions?
Historically, these captured tanks have already been deployed

Frage, warum kann ich in den Missionen Smolensk oder Kiew keinen T-34 Beute Panzer kaufen?
Historisch gesehen wurden da schon diese erbeuteten Panzer eingesetzt

Re: T-34 as a prey tank
Good question. I had expected the same. As it is, the only choices available to you with that specialization are pretty garbage.
Re: T-34 as a prey tank
Prey tank for Beutepanzer is actually cute. "Bounty" fits a lot better, I think. Prey is for animals, as in "Beutetier und Jaeger".KeinGeneral wrote:Question: Why can not I buy a T-34 booty tank in the Smolensk or Kiev missions?

But I guess it is for balancing reasons and my Panzer IVs and IIIs fit my army like a glove already.
Despite that, I dont think T34s were used in such numbers as to justify a whole unit, which would probably be around 50 tanks and more.
But you guys are right, Beutepanzer is not very useful. The basic training stuff (flight school, Panzerschule etc), scrambling, droptanks and Waffen SS are good. Rest is garbage, kind of.
Re: T-34 as a prey tank
Almost missed the "booty tank".
"I like big tanks and I cannot lie, you other tankers cant deny, when a tank drives in with an itty bitty gun and dat armour in your face, you get sprung.." (Sir Mixalot, Baby got back)
Couldnt resist.
@KeinGeneral: I dont mean to be rude, but this was just too good to miss.

Re: T-34 as a prey tank
T-34 tanks involved certainly in the battles of Smolensk and Kiev in the 10th Wehrmacht Panzer Division in the number of 5 vehicles. Greater number of these tanks fought in the direction of Leningrad.
It seems to me that the 5 tanks is not enough to appear in the game where 1 unit represents 1 regiment or even 1 division in reality.
I'm sorry but I do not know German language.

Re: T-34 as a prey tank
I'm guessing the devs didnt include a T34 for balancing reasons. They certainly put a KV for the Finns in Winter War, also BT7, light tanks and so on as Beutepanzer (captured vehicles), even though the Finns didnt have that many. But those are the only tank units you get in the beginning. So its mostly about gameplay and balancing first, history second.kondi754 wrote:T-34 tanks involved certainly in the battles of Smolensk and Kiev in the 10th Wehrmacht Panzer Division in the number of 5 vehicles. BTW, do you now get to keep that Russian arty piece you can capture in Yelnya?
Dont worry about your German. I was a bit more concerned that nobody gets my Hiphop reference. Booty tank. I'm still chuckling.
