Specialization system choices for US Pacific Campaign

Post by Longasc »

I finished Pearl Harbor and got 7 points, now I am at Warplan Orange-3.

5 points are the minimum for 1 star Infantry, 10 for Field Medics. I remember in my previous runs of this Campaign that Field Medics aka the ability to generate resources points by fighting was very important for me early on.

How would you spend your points, and does one always only get 7 points for each scenario? I have no idea how many points I will get after this scenario.

I personally never found field medic useful. I focus on additional deployment points, radar, naval & pilot training in that order. I try to have naval and air training before Marshall & Gilberts scenario which is when I start building my carrier air groups. I make it through the defensive battles on the Philippines spending as little as possible. The additional deployment points is huge for New Georgia scenario.

It's +1 Naval/Land/Air each, right? Might just allow to squeeze in one more carrier or BB? :)

It seems every scenario gives +7 advancement points. Just reached Bataan and still wonder where to spend them.
