Problem Connecting to Server - Update Game

Hi - I have reinstalled FoG again - after buying the Oath of Fealty module - to download the OoF module I need to have the game installed AND have it updated to a later version of FoG. However, when I go to update the core FoG game I get the dreaded network connection error.

Is the server down?

If I had this happen before it was so long ago I have forgotten.

I need to update the OoF module within the next 24 hours or I will have to get permission to do it again.

Can anyone help?

Also: when I click on Copy Details of the error message for the network - where is the log file kept where I can copy the text so I can paste it here?

Do you have FoG (Unity) installed or the old version?
Oath of Fealty only runs if you have FoG (Unity).

No, I was using the older version. When I tried downloading the Unity version (twice) it stops each time with just 4 seconds left. This reminds me of a Friday afternoon where you are trying to leave work for a long weekend and the work load just keeps coming! ROFL

Anyway, I posted the problem I am having with the download at the thread you link here. I will hopefully get it resolved soon.

I find the instructions on which download file to grab confusing. I see an original downloader:

Download Original Field of Glory PC Installer
Version v.1.5.0 (12 JUL 2016)
ZIP Download field_of_glory_1.5.0.zip (2.43 mb)

I see this too:

Download Field of Glory PC Installer
Version v.2.5.02 (7 JUL 2016)
ZIP Download FieldOfGlory-SetupRelease-v2502.zip (308.72 mb)

I was trying to download the second of the two. Do I need to use the first one?

This is very confusing, guys. When you go to explain how to do something expect the dumbest brick on the planet to be trying to do it. How about screenshots or at least a step by step walkthrough? Or tell use exactly the item we need to look for.

Just my observations. I used to work IT. We had to outline our installation instructions step by step for people. I mean we had to tell them to pull the CD out of the case! LOL

Anyway, I am going to try downloading the file using another browser. Hope this time it works.

(Yes, you might tell me I am the only one having problems - I get that a lot in life .... ... just figure for everyone that says something there are 8 that just give up and go elsewhere LOL

Ok ... so now I am getting the "530 - Permission Denied" message when I try and download the v.2.5.02 file. I need some help with this. Thanks much!
