Pacific US campaign - Midway - 'hanging'

Post by leci »

The Pacific Midway scenario will not load - just 'hangs' in 'loading' mode - and have let it run for many hours!

I have all relevant game updates/patches. I have reinstalled the Pacific campaign. I have 'cheated' my way through the previous scenarios (so as to exclude anything I may have generated) - still no joy! What is going on? Help!

Do you have the hotfix 2.9.6g installed?

I reinstalled so I assume that I would have picked up the latest release?

No. You reinstall the 2.4.8, the original version.

Then you have to install the last update 2.9.6d:

And finally install 2.9.6g.

Ok, but Rising Sun campaign, which I purchased (it seems twice) is not recognised and or on the player screen.

Help.

Just renamed the original Rising Sun set-up log and reinstalled - again to no avail.

Please send your savegame to contact@the-artistocrats.com

As far as I know we've solved issues like these in the current hotfix, but a savegame will allow us to confirm whether one still exists or not.

Many thanks VP, the suggested fix appears to have worked.

However, and please don't misunderstand me (I have purchased a fair few 'Slitherine games for PC and iPad), but I do fine myself somewhat annoyed when almost by default one has to go through an almost endless loop of 'hanging' etc., faults, problems, 'bugs' (a term from the early days of programming when a 'bug' suggested a butterfly had entered the room and caused trouble....), resulting in 'x' reboots, 'y' reinstalls, endless forum posts etc. One day...... Of course on the 'up side' it is gratifying that so many people/members are able and care enough to help sort.
