US Grand Campaign SE Units
Ok so I've finally started the US Grand Campaign and I'm a few scenarios in. I keep getting SE P47's. I already have one & I sell the new ones off. I'd rather have an infantry or armor unit instead. Am I just having bad luck? Does anyone know if it's even possible to get offered an SE infantry or armor unit in the campaign? I know I'm still in Africa but I'm beginning to wonder.

You should get SE Rangers soon, 2 units maybe.

US Corps only has SE infantry and fighters - unfortunately there are no SE tanks, and not even an SE tank destroyer, which could be handy.
You should get one of your infantry units converted to SE Rangers in the second scenario (the one just before operation Torch). I am pretty sure I got an SE fighter in Oran one time, so at least they get a chance to gain some experience early on, unlike in Allied Corps where the first SE units come in when the enemy experience makes life very difficult.
If you use Nikki's modified equipment files, you will get SE para 43, but in the standard equipment files, the SE paras are only available in early form so they aren't much use after the 42 Campaign. My lack of skill in using paras makes this even more of a problem.

Get used to the Jugs! The P-47 is your workhorse since by the time P-51s come online, it is way too expensive to upgrade experienced P-47s to P-51s. In addition, your newbie P-51s are AI kill magnets.
My only recourse has been to use the cheat to add one or two core US AA units to each battle. To try and keep AI honest.
Wait till the unrealistic kamikaze waves of Wunderwaffe in later years!
Oh, btw, if you're just starting US Corps go 50/50 Sherman line/tank destroyer(M10, M36, M18, etc.). The tank destroyers (again unrealistically) defend, attack and survive much better against the panzers. I can't tell you the mass quantities of prestige lost and wasted you'll see as kamikaze panzers severely damage or decimate your latest model Sherman's. Artillery backup essential to all armor always. Go heavy artillery too.
