Rising Sun fleet suggestions

Post by prattaa »

It's my first time through the Rising Sun campaign and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for which cruiser to go with at Java Sea? I've got four destroyers and two cruisers with the chance to add a third part way through the battle. The battleships seems to slow to keep up with the action and it seems too early to invest in a carrier though I am training the air group through the early battles. All the cruisers have similar stats but do any have a higher upside later on?

2 battleships and a carrier is all you need for this one. As there are lots of destroyers and not too many capital ships, a bomb-armed bomber is best, plus a zero.

I've never tried using CAs at this point in the campaign.

I usually go with 1 battleship and 1 carrier + 2 cruisers.

And if I remember the scenario correctly I start with 2 bombers and add the fighter later.

To answer my own question the Myoko class us a dead end. Only the Mogami and Tone classes get AA upgrades as the campaign progresses.
