Super Big announcement about Multiplayer Tournament

Post by goose_2 »

Ok Fellow Multiplayers.

You are receiving this message as I have either played you before or recently and I just found out this week...wait for it...

Slitherine is going to work with us to set up a multiplayer Tournament for Panzer Corps.

They are thinking of at least 16 players with either single or double elimination.

They would like to know the scenarios they should consider for the ladder and any thoughts on this tournament.

They are hoping to set it up for first thing in October.

I am super excited to get this kind of support and am hoping to get this as a regular thing going forward to help promote this great game.

Let's show him what a great group of players we are.

Let me know your thoughts and suggested scenarios so I can relay back to the Slitherine folks.

Daddy is super happy.

My recommendation is for Poland.
Simple, basic and quick.

Plus I dominate both sides most times I play. ;)

Stay Lutheran My Friends.

Cool, can't wait. Poland sounds good, although I haven't played alot of the MP scenarios out there to give an opinion. :|

I have heard from Braccada and Top Gun
Braccada votes also for Poland and TopGun votes for Steamroller vs. Steel.

TopGun also discussed setting a time limit for people to play their turns so people do not get bored.

Time limits are a must.

Not sure what exactly it should be set to.

From my limited experiences with MP Scenarios, I´d suggest for this purpose a rather small map (due to time considerations) with pre-set troop contingents and few or no options to purchase additional troops (to give Players who normally don´t Play MP a Chance).

Hi Goose, Please put me on the list as being interested in this tournament. Are you still looking for scenario suggestions? I have played very few multiplayer scenarios, but am currently finishing up a crazy game of one of the ones you beta-tested, Summer Offensive. (By the way, I think it would be IMPOSSIBLE to win a decisive in that one as the Soviets, where you have to capture all objectives. There are simply not enough resources for the Soviet, in my view, against a significant German offensive. Holding/caprturing two objectives is doable and I am in a battle royale right now trying to hold two for the basic victory. Best, Tom

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

We are still going through strictly Soviet Multiplayer Tournament that I set up earlier this year that is not endorsed by Slitherine.

We have played through Summer Offenisve, Ruingrad, and are working through Last Man Standing.
ZIG ZAG and Frontline Duty are next and they are the most chess like in my mind.

I have been playing several players in the Battle of Stalingrad.

Initially when playing against the computer I found the steadily shrinking play area disconcerting, but now after playing it several times with several different players I find it highly exhilarating and ingeniously set up.

I have been able to win with both sides and find the shrinking battlefield increases the overall tension in the game immensely.

That particular scenario is a stroke of brilliance on the developers in my humble opinion.

I am looking forward to this Tournament going down and getting some much needed promotion from the folks at Slitherine.

Thanks again!
