Does the "reform unit" option affect Steam achievements?

Hello,

I've recently bought the basic/vanilla game, and am enjoying it a lot. It definitely will become one of my favorite games ever in a very short time.
I have a question regarding the "reform/rebuild units" option in the advanced difficulty settings.
Will ticking this option keep it possible to get the Steam achievement for completing the Wehrmacht base campaign on "colonel" difficulty?

I like this option a lot: it represents the fact that units which were almost completely lost or destroyed were still rebuilt at a later date, using part of the officer corps.
Even some of the divisions lost & captured in Stalingrad were reformed shortly after, with the same name and number.

So in my opinion it is not a cheat, just a nice representation of something which actually happened in real life...
