Air supply exploit?

Post by Poddster »

In the Coral Sea scenario I couldn't place any air units (except for scouts) as there wasn't enough Air Supply. The scenario already had two carriers in it and they were both full of ships using up the supply. Makes sense. I guess the intent of having all of those Air command points is for the player to buy scouts and replace losses?

Unfortunately, the game allows you to e.g. buy 3 mega carriers, get "air supply" from them, place planes in the air and then delete/sell the carrier, and start the scenario. It seems like an avoidance of the air supply system? Granted, the planes efficiency will diminish, but I can imagine some kamakazi style suicide tactic taking place in a MP scenario designed like Coral Sea to kill all of the "free" veteran planes before the efficient problem happens.

Perhaps the scenario should refuse to start if a player is over his supply, given that he game already refuses to let the player place more than the supply?

Agreed. I noticed it as well But I assume this is an unintentional glitch.
