Yesterday I bought Order of Battle - Pacific on Steam. After downloading I wasn't able to start game: "Game is incomplete or defect". I downloaded it again and tried again (in my iMAc and Powerbook) to start it but the same error message appear, even after restarting my Macs. Thats why I refunded successfully the game. I say this just to let you know there might be a problem with this game on Steam (for Mac users).
Now I bought it directly from Slitherine and it works out of the box! All fine except the fact I would like to play also in PME mode (multiplayer option). The game lets me know I can't because my game is not up to date and I shall update by the start launcher. The only screen on starting the game lets me know I play an unmoded version, no options there. I updated the game on start screen clicking on the wooden box in the upper right corner. Where/how can I update the game so I can use/play the PME mode?

The same thing is happening to me. I purchased the Marines DLC and now the game refuses to run with an error message:
You can’t open the application “Order of Battle - Pacific” because it may be damaged or incomplete.
I've tried deleting and re-downloading the game, restarting the computer, restarting steam, all to no avail.

Hi,
Please try uninstalling the app, then try disabling Gatekeeper then reinstall the app, then run the game and if it runs without issue, then you can reenable Gatekeeper.
You can find Gatekeeper settings in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General.
To disable Gatekeeper, click on the lock on the lower left of the window and type in your system password. By default Gatekeeper will only open apps purchased and downloaded from the Mac App Store or from a list of “identified developers” that have been given the ok from Apple by obtaining an unique Developer ID. To install other apps, select the option to install from Anywhere.

I'm not sure yet if your answer is focussed on my Steam problem or unable to play PME. I can't reproduce it on Steam due I gave it back but after buying directly from Slitherine I wanted to install it and got into the security "problem" you mentioned in your mail. I am aware of this and allowed third party program installation. The game was installed successfully but I still don't know how to update the game so I can use the PME multiplayer functionality.
In case your answer was focussed on my second part (game update to be able to use PME) I deleted and reinstalled Order of Battle Pacific to make sure this is the problem but I still got the following message: "CONNECTION ERROR - Your game version is out of date. Please update the game through the launcher." The only screen I see when starting the game has the title "MOD launcher" and says ""The original, unmodded game"".
I don't think I have Internet problems (CONNECTION ERROR). I'm able to update/install all content behind the wooden box on start screen in the upper right corner. The funny thing: After removing and re-installing alle these contents I got a new option on starting game: ""Battle of Britain". On choosing "Battle of Britain" the screen keeps black, only mousepointer is active. Kinda crash, since I can't switch back to desktop, forced turn off.
I tried this all on my iMac with elCapitan (latest release).
Where/how can I update the game in order to play PME without getting the mentioned error message?

This changed everything! After moving the "patch" to my app folder (by replacing the old game) I got on start: "Das Programm „Order of Battle - PacificX“ kann nicht geöffnet werden." (... can't be opened). WT.... I then copied back the deleted old game (by keeping the patched version) and started it again. Still old version... Then I closed it, restarted the latest patch game and had to re-enter the serial. And then checked all the not working functions, everything looks nice now! The patch made it!
After this I removed the old game and the patched game still works!
All fine...
P.S.: I have no idea where the patch officially is located I wasn't able to find it outside the forum. Would have expected it in "Resources".

Nope, just the game (dmg and exe) and a directory with manual PDFs in different languages.
