Medical Jeep and aerial units

While my medical jeep does fine when it comes to repairing land units, there seems to be some sort of bug, or something that I am not getting when it comes to repairing aerial units.
I land an aerial unit on an airfield, have the jeep next to it, and wait one turn. The wrench icon is now available when I chose the jeep, and the airfield strength is increased as I "repair" the air unit. The air unit itself however is not repaired. Only the airfield strength is increased, the actual aerial unit is still as beat up as ever.

I didn't know that dinky little jeep could/should repair air units. With band-aids...?
My guess is it working as intended, but those strength numbers should not change. Also a more specific tool-tip would be good.

Same band-aids it uses for tanks I think, yes ^^

Maybe the hard-ware is unblemished and only the personnel need some medical attention.
But that could be said of the air unit too...maybe.

Uuh repairing (grounded) air units or other structures certainly isn't intended
