Northern League 2016

Here are the dates and venues for this year:

Round 1 20th March 2016 Sheffield (Triples Show). Army Lists due by 5th March.
Round 2 1st May 2016 Manchester. Army Lists due by 15th April.
Round 3 24th July 2016 Halifax. Army Lists due by 11th July.
Round 4 4th September 2016 Derby. Army Lists due by 21st August.
Round 5 6th November 2016 Manchester. Army Lists due by 23rd October.


Once again the Fog R tournament will be Singles, although players may enter as a Doubles team if they wish.
The format remains 800 points, any published army, with 3 classes as in previous years.
The top 4 scores for each player or team (or less if they have played fewer than 4 rounds) will be counted towards the overall annual championship.

Entry this year is £6 per player per round (i.e. £12 for a team of 2) except for the Sheffield round where it will be £7(£14) including entry to the show.

It's a Northern thing!

In order to ensure variety armies are divided into one of 3 classes:

Restricted troop types are Elite or Superior Troops, Heavy Artillery and Inspired Commanders

1. Class 1 army = must include over 400 pts + of restricted troops types
2. Class 2 army = must include 200 to 399 pts of restricted troops types
3. Class 3 army = may include no more than 199pts of restricted troop types

Restricted troop types are Superior Troops, Heavy Artillery, Elite Troops and Inspired Commanders

Army classes are further re-classed by size:-
4. A Class 3 army with MORE than 15 BG’s is re-classed as a Class 2
5. A Class 2 army with MORE than 15 BG’s is re-classed as a Class 1.
6. Class 1, 2 and 3 armies of 15 BG’s or less are not re-classed

7. A Class 1 or 2 armies dated before 1570 is classed as one class lower.

If you beat a higher class army you score bonus points. Players have to use at least one army from each class over the year to be considered for the overall tournament.
