Unit Custom Colors

I have seen several mods with different unit types that are greatly expanded from the usual set of unit types. I have also seem different skins that make the tanks different colors to correspond to different seasons and units. Do these new units have their own custom stats and are they purchasable in the game?

I am not very good with modding games and such, but is there a how-to-do guide to using these mods? I don't want to screw up my copy of the game, but I was thinking it would be awesome to have battlegroups that have their own custom colors.

Has anyone at Panzercorps considered having stock units buyable with a selection of color options? Or are you stuck with one skin per
