That's one cracking format Paul. I've been musing off and on for a while about how to encourage "balanced" armies at bashos and you have just nailed it stone dead. Bloomin' marvellous!. Remind me to lob you 30 nicker at Schiltron and make it non refundable so that I have a Scotsman's motivation not to kiff out for anything less than Armageddon. Now to start working out what to use/paint!

One additional rule
Any armies which have the option of dismounting troops MUST choose whether those troops remain on horses or dismount at the time of submitting the army list. This means the same mode must be used in all 4 games and be specified in advance. eg each unit must be specified as either always dismounted or always mounted

Some interesting ideas there Paul. Will be keen to know how you get on.
With the HF increase to 4MU you might wish to consider keeping any HvA foot at 3 MU? Not that they appear that often.

Just to confirm the only additional rule is that potential dismounters need to declare at list submission stage Paul. Is that so?

Re: Bayfog VIII 22-23 October
yes exactly... 900pt any list... dismounters must be declared in the army list how they will fight - must be the same in each battle; terrain will be pre set and will include open, medium and closed variants.. Chris Tofalos, Andy Ellis, Dave Morrison, 3 Scots and a band of brothers from Durham already confirmed.. plus the UK's top ranked player, the world no2 and Emperor of German will also be there.. so numbers look as good as last year which is positive (despite the BHGS deciding to go head to head with a date clash with us chaps ooop north)

Re: Bayfog VIII 22-23 October
I suspect the BHGS gig wont impact much on the Baytown Basho PJ. Some headline acts jostling for position there eh?
World number two, UK number one and the Emperor of the Germans. Wow. What chance do us little minnows have in that pond - lucky we're only playing for fun! My troops are force marching from Essex as we speak - ready to throw themselves at the paint brush when they arrive here in Perth. Yes, a bespoke army for the BB folks. Opponents can count on being treated to a liquin fix for sure ......

Re: Bayfog VIII 22-23 October
Progress is good on the BayFog Basho army folks. The little guys are based, undercoated and the colours are starting to be applied. They are full of promise. Now there's a clue if ever there was one to what I will be taking to the table in late October in sunny Robin Hood's Bay.

That's great Paul, 14 and rising.
Seen what you done making yourself average joe again in the list - clever!
Ghurids it ain't - whatever they are. Got a little brushwork in last night but must try harder if I'm to deliver on the promise of a wholly new army for the basho. Both guesses are in the right direction though.
My old pal Spotted Dog has just sniffed out the opportunity for some PREDICTOMETER action and will no doubt be in touch with some of his uncannily accurate basho forecasts soon.
