Quick Multiplayer Question.

Post by Biffa »

Steam version of the game.

I wanted to ask if you need two copies of the game to play multiplayer, since I'm tempted to get the board version instead to play with mates where ofc you only need one copy, and some of the digital reviews have been a bit meh. Got a bunch of mates who live locally and it's no problem to use either format though as wargamers we're more tempted by the hands on version but the digital would mean we could hook up more often for a quick match.

here you go, on one pc with 1 serial number, but 2 players, called hot seat mode

but for you all to play online in different houses etc, only option is multiplayer with a serial number each, as each player online needs a different key / serial in multiplayer online mode, where as hot seat mode is on one serial on one pc

Thanks for that!

If it's a hit then expect a few more purchases but this'll give me a chance to show some other interested parties!

Really enjoying this game, it's tempting to buy the board version because every time I look at it I keep wishing that the extra units and map tiles will soon be available for the digital version.

Main annoying thing is the how many times you have to mouse click after ending your turn, sometimes you have to click on the unit even though it has no action points left and then click proceed, other times you have to click the units icon in the action bar then click proceed, it's a bit inconsistent, I've played hotseat a few times with fellow wargamers and it's the first thing that confuses them.

Sadly a edited misson I'd made for two of them bugged out when a recon unit wouldn't unhide and kept it's "?" icon and we couldn't carry on but that was the first edited game and the others were all fine after that.

Overall though they were impressed, think I may have got you some more sales hopefully because I'd love to play some quick games with friends who never seem to have the time to do any proper wargaming these days. The main comment was about artillery and the fact there is no elevations i.e. Hills, mulitiple room levels.

Also tempted to mount actual 3d painted figures on the card bases, use the rules (maybe add proper morale) and use the tiles and perhaps copy the battle field and shadow it on a pc to cover rules and throws, that would be fairly bonkers but we discussed it.
