Update issue

Bought a new laptop today running windows 10
Warhammer took a while to load from master disk but loaded ok and ran with no problem.
However when I tried to update the game I cant using the game update I get error.
Downloaded the game updates from Matrix games site and installed now when I load the tutorial campaign I get

Error access violation reading location 0x4(0)

Followed by

ArmageddonGame.exe - Fatal Application exit

***Unhandled Exception! ExpCode: 0x80000003 ExpFlags:0
ExpAddress: 0x007D655F Please report!


I uninstalled and reloaded from disk works ok, put in compatible mode for Win 8 downloaded game updates again and same error same exception.
The conversation animations run ok error comes up when I get to the first turn of all the campaign acts including tutorial
Processor is intel i3 -5020u @2.20GHz 8GB ram 64 bit op system

Please help, I cant load my addon campaigns using the basic load, it says I need to update to another version

Are the issues when only you update the game?
You don't experience any issues when for example you are playing vanilla campaign/scenarios without updating the game?

If base game loaded from disk and no game updates applied , I cannot get the game updater to run , it times out with an error message akin to no response from the server.

The game crash occurs after I have downloaded the latest updates, version 1.08 and/or 1.09
I cannot load the downloadable extra campaigns, Blood Angels. Ultramarines and Salamanders, which
I have on disk, as it says the minimum needed is version 1.05, this is when .i found
I could not update the game from the menu and downloaded the updates manually, and crash occurred once .i had run the update.

Apologies my last did not fully answer you.
If I load the game from disk, with no updates the game runs ok, no crashes .
However I cannot get the game updater to update the game from the main menu. The updater times out.
When I have version 1.08 or 1.09 version installed I get the game crash on turn one of any campaign and scenario

Are you login to Windows as administrator?
In which folder is the game installed?

There is only the one account on the laptop so as far as I am aware this is administrator privleges.
The game itself is in a folder

Windows(C:) Program Files (x86) Slitherine Warhammer 40,000 Armageddon

Try uninstalling and reinstalling in a different folder than C:\Program Files (x86)\.....
Install for example in C:\Games\....

After having uninstalled please renaame also the folder named "Warhammer 40,000 Armageddon" as "_Warhammer 40,000 Armageddon". This folder can be found at:
....\Documents\My Games\

Ok I uninstalled, changed the old folder as you said.
Reloaded game and the game works, no crash but it version 1.0

Tried to update to version 1.09 via the check for update button

Message comes up. Downloading WH-Armageddon UpdateComp-V1.09.exe

After approx 30 secs I get. Unable to download file error occurred while trying to open ftp file.

So the game update still not working.
So I next installed update V1.09 from my downloads and this time no crash, how do confirm the version installed ?

Since my last post.
Have installed v1.09 and the game now runs, all campaigns.
I have also managed to load the three downloadeble content for the Space Marine campaigns, these have all worked, at least on the first scenario
